RGN (РГН) Hand Grenade

The RGN (РГН), or Ruchnaya Granata Nastupatel'naya (Hand Grenade Offensive), now available on our mobile app, is a Russian high-explosive fragmentation (HE-Frag) anti-personnel grenade. Introduced in 1984 alongside its counterpart, the RGO grenade, the RGN is designed for both offensive and defensive operations.

Design and Construction

The grenade features a single-layered aluminum pre-fragmented body, comprising two internally serrated aluminum hemispheres. This design ensures effective fragmentation upon detonation, maximizing its lethality against personnel within its blast radius.

Fuzing Mechanism

Equipped with the UDZ (УДЗ) fuze, the RGN grenade incorporates both impact (IMP) and time delay self destruct (DLY-SD) functions.

Operational Use

Currently in production in Russia and Ukraine, the RGN grenade is also in service with several other nations. Its dual-function fuze system and effective fragmentation make it a versatile choice for various combat scenarios.

A detailed 3D model of the RGN grenade is now available in the EODynamics mobile application. This addition aims to enhance recognition and understanding of contemporary grenade designs among EOD professionals and military personnel.
